The Regional Department volunteers will also be gearing up to go door to door throughout the year to do fire inspections if you wish to participate. The inspection will include making sure there are no potential hazards and to educate families on fire safety within there own home.
The Government of Saskatchewan Emergency Management and Fire Safety is implementing a province wide smoke alarm installation Program, which is identified as S.A.F.E Family Installation Program. Smoke alarms are the life-saving success story of the past 30 years. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) statistics, each year, three out of five home fire deaths result from fires in homes with either no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms. Volunteers in the area will be participating in the program upon door to door home fire inspections.
