Assessment Appeals

Property Assessment Appeals - 2025 (Closed)

The 2025 property assessment appeal period is now closed.

When open, an assessment appeal must clearly identify the specific error being alleged. A Notice of Appeal is required to include:

  • the assessment or classification believed to be incorrect;
  • the specific grounds for the appeal;
  • and a  summary of the facts supporting the appeal.

Only complete appeals are placed before the Board of Revision. Appeals of property taxes cannot be heard—only the assessed value of land and/or improvements may be appealed. A fee per property is required and is refundable if the appeal is successful. If an appeal proceeds, the appellant is notified in writing of the hearing date and location.

If the appellant does not attend the hearing, the Board of Revision will make a decision based on the information available, and the decision cannot be appealed.

Decisions of the Board of Revision may be appealed to the Provincial Assessment Appeals Committee, but only if the appellant attended the hearing. For future assessment cycles or general inquiries, please contact the RM of Wilton office.
