Winter Storm Recovery
The area is still under a Winter Storm Warning for the duration of February 17th with blizzard conditions and snow accumulations of 15 to 25 cm.
Municipal Crews have started clearing roads, continued accumulation and winds may hinder snow clearing operations. Drifting may have left some roads unpassable. Crews will continue to perform snow clearing as per Winter Maintenance protocols.
Motorists are to prepare for quickly changing conditions. Please travel with caution and allow extra time if you must travel.
No service requests will be addressed for 48 hrs while crews work to complete their first pass of priority routes.
We appreciate your patience as crews work diligently to complete first pass followed by more thorough maintenance.
Snow Clearing and Sanding
Wilton strives to plow and sand all Municipal roads in a timely manner; however we do follow a priority sequence when plowing. The school bus routes are done first, followed by the steepest roads and collector roads. Remaining roads are completed in a route that makes the most efficient use of resources.
When snow is falling or there is potential for ice on the roads, the snow removal crew will be out on the roads plowing or sanding as the weather demands.
Please be patient with snow removal equipment as they are often driving well below the speed limit for safety.
